At the end of each year, Google releases a list of the best Android apps. Find below the official top five apps that trended on Google Play globally this year. The rundown does indicate 2016 has been the best year for the new generation of selfies.

1) Face Changer 2

Face Changer 2 is a photo-editing tool, in fact the second edition of the popular app Face Changer, with over 50 million downloads. It allows you to change the face of any image available on your phone or on the Internet. The automatic morph effects include alien, fat, skinny and monster. Besides the top five apps, Google also released the top trending games, songs, books as well as movies. The games ranking was dominated by Pokemon Go, followed by Clash Royale, Traffic Rider, Slither.io and Dream League Soccer.
