Sony’s new Communities app will help you discover PS4 friends

If you are a PS4 addict, here is how you can meet friends and explore user-created groups. Sony has launched a new PlayStation Communities app for PlayStation 4.

Through the new app, PS4 users will be able to look up members of other Communities, see their profiles and interact with them through chat or private messages.

“PlayStation Communities are places where you can find players who have similar interests and preferences,” Sony’s John Koller said. “Within a Community, you can join parties and launch into games with other Community members, or talk about your shared interests.”

The standalone app is being released for those in North America and Europe for iOS and Android devices. Besides all the features for interaction, the app also offers recommendations based on the games played and even highlights those Communities that are trending.

Any registered user can start a Community and invite other players. The group can be made public or private too. The app’s streamlined design makes it easy to post text and images on the Community wall.

There is also the option to turn on notifications, which will alert users know when there are new posts and replies in one of their Communities.
