For those of you considering Sony’s latest Xperia XZ, the premium smartphone is now available at stores in major markets. Sony on Monday announced that the flagship device is on sale at the Xperia store online, retail shops and local operators.
The 5.2 inch smartphone comes with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution and 424 ppi pixel density and is believed to be in the league of the Sony Xperia X Performance. The device, launched at this year’s IFA, won rave reviews for its boosted hardware and advanced camera tech.
Before a worldwide release, Sony first unveiled the Xperia XZ for consumers in Taiwan. It was priced at NT$ 22,900 ($731) with color options consisting of Mineral Black, Forest Blue, and Platinum. Last week, pre-orders began in the US, with a price of $699 for an unlocked version.
Under the hood, the Xperia XZ is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage (expandable up to 200GB via microSD card). The device has a stunning loop surface and also incorporates USB Type-C for ease of charging.
The prominent feature of Xperia XZ is undoubtedly its multimedia capabilities. On the camera front, the device comes equipped with Sony’s acclaimed image sensor with new triple image sensing technology. The device features a 23-megapixel rear camera with a f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash, while the 13-megapixel camera is placed on the front for selfies.
The 13MP Sony Exmor RS image sensor is perfect for selfies with its super high sensitivity (as high as ISO6400) and 22mm/90-degree wide angle lens. It also offers a myriad of photographic modes and tweaks. On the video front, Xperia XZ comes with world’s first 5-axis image stabilization in Sony’s SteadyShot. The technology allows you to shoot smoother videos with support for 4K video recording.
For audio enthusiasts, Xperia XZ features front stereo speakers and digital noise cancelling to reduce background noise. Hi-Res audio, found in Sony’s top rated speakers and headphones, is supported for an incredible listening experience.
The Xperia XZ, meanwhile, is also available on Amazon in Platinum and Graphite Black color options.
