Xiaomi has a new 5-inch device that just got certified by Chinese telecom regulatory authority TENAA. There are scant details available on the hardware, but not all to forecast the model.
The TENAA listing was made on February 10, with the model number showing as “MAE136”. The dimensions mentioned are 139.24×69.94×8.65mm, and the screen size is a 5-inch form factor. We also know there is a fingerprint scanner on the back and a metal chassis that seamlessly blends in.
Other than the aforementioned, the TENAA listing reveals the battery to be of 4,000 mAh, and support for dual SIM. At first glance, it does resemble a mid-range smartphone, but once the RAM, storage and processor are known, we can be convinced.
Folks at Xiaomi Today suggest it could be the Xiaomi Redmi 5 due to the dimensions and appearance. There is nothing official yet on the name of the device, the pricing or availability.
