Here is how consumers in India can get a discount on Motorola’s latest smartphone. With the launch of Moto M on Tuesday, Motorola said customers can get a special exchange offer of up to Rs 2000 ($30) on their old smartphone.
Besides the exchange offer, customers can also avail a Rs 1,000 ($15) discount on purchases made through Citibank credit cards.
For several days Motorola has been teasing the smartphone on social media sites. Finally, the company took the wraps off today at an event in Mumbai. It was available in China last month for a price of CNY 1999 ($290). Part of the Moto X line-up, the new device features a 5.5-inch Full HD 2.5D curved glass IPS display with 1080×1920 pixel resolution.
Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P15 CPU with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD). For pictures, you have a 16MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus and dual LED flash, and an 8MP shooter for selfies.
The metal body device, introduced during the IFA 2016 in September, supports 4G VoLTE and is backed by a 3,050mAh battery with fast charging support. Another highlight is the Dolby Atmos-powered audio technology.
Moto M will be available exclusively on Flipkart. The 3GB RAM/32GB storage variant is priced at Rs 15,999 ($236).
